Bake Me Happy is a 100% gluten free bakery in Merion Village, just south of Downtown in Columbus, OH. We opened in 2013 and have been in Merion Village for 6 years. Owners Letha and Wendy Pugh were named Tastemakers by Columbus Monthly Magazine in 2017, have been featured in various publications and commercials, highlighted in Facebook's Small Business campaigns and was featured in a Facebook Watch show with Tan France.
PART TIME: ASSISTANT BAKER
Position Summary:
The Assistant Baker Position is an entry level position responsible for helping bakers providing high quality baked products, working well within a team and working independently, while ensuring a clean and positive environment. Our team members work together efficiently, quickly, respectfully and have fun! We are looking for a detail oriented and focused team member for full time employment with a part time schedule.
Assistant Baker Job Responsibilities:

scooping large batches of cookies or scones efficiently and uniformly
-
cutting out cookie dough
-
prepping and assembling poptarts or other pie crust products
-
finishing products, like frosting muffins, frosting poptarts, frosting cookies, glazing bundts
-
packaging products
-
prepping ingredients for large batch recipes, attention to detail and accuracy measuring ingredients

keep work area clean, cleaning and sanitizing according to food safety standards and washing dishes
-
tracking items baked by using inventory systems in place
-
responsibly operate equipment, dishwasher and ovens
-
answering phone, taking orders and helping customer service counter when needed
Assistant Baker Job Requirements:

passionate baker, but professional training not required-able to read recipes and follow instructions a must

formal experience not required, but hobby baking is a plus

strong attention to detail and time management
-
flexible and willing to learn new things

friendly can-do attitude

knowledgeable about gluten free baking/living and/or willing to learn

decision maker with ability to work independently

able to stand for 8 hours

able to lift 50 lbs

able to tolerate continued repetitive motion of wrists/elbows

Monday - Friday 10am - approx 3pm (depending on production schedule, may be done earlier)

Our team members work together efficiently, quickly, respectfully and have fun! We are looking for an experienced and independent team member for full time employment with an alternative schedule.
General Baker Job Responsibilities:

scooping and cutting cookies/muffins/cakes

bulk baking (making large production batches)
-
baking cakes, pies, muffins, brownies, poptarts, etc.

some chocolate work
-
packaging products
-
reading recipes, measuring and mixing according to instructions and baking properly at correct temperatures

keep work area clean, cleaning and sanitizing according to food safety standards and washing dishes

tracking items baked by using inventory systems in place

responsibly operate equipment, dishwasher and ovens

answering phone, taking orders and helping customer service counter when needed

Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday approx 7am - 3pm
Some transporting of product to another location may be required at the end of shift
Weekend days are not negotiable - +$2/hr weekend bonus pay
